1. Postdoctoral Research Associate  (February 2021 – Present)

Responsibilities:

  • Tracking progression of infectious diseases (e.g., COVID-19, Flu) using wearable sensors.
  • Developing signal processing and machine learning algorithms for wearable sensors to monitor cardiorespiratory fitness for healthy individuals and patients with heart failure.
  • Utilizing wearable sensors to monitor and investigate physiological underpinnings of exercise limitations in patients with heart failure.
  • Leading an open-source initiative “Digital Biomarker Discovery Pipeline” which provides code sets, functions, and algorithms for the entire digital biomarker (digitally collected data that are transformed into indicators of health outcomes) discovery pipeline to make discovering digital biomarkers more accessible.
  • Investigating participant adherence in digital health studies.
  • Assessing ownership of smart devices and the acceptability of digital health data sharing among Duke Patients. 
  • Drafting research grant application.

3. Graduate Research Assistant     (May 2016 – December 2020)

Responsibilities:

  • Developed and validated wearable sensors and corresponding algorithms to monitor cardiovascular and respiratory health in healthy individuals and patients with heart failure.
  • Developed and validated wearable sensors to track changes in hemodynamics during pregnancy to predict preeclampsia.
  • Developed and validated wearable sensors for non-invasive stress quantification and tracking physiological effects of vagus nerve stimulation.

4. Graduate Research Assistant     (August 2014 – May 2015)

  • Designed and fabricated 3D high channel density neural arrays for large neuronal mapping.
  • Fabricated non-planar shadow mask for high aspect ratio 3D microstructure.
